Frank Caristo – Chiropractor

Frank brings over 25 years of experience as a chiropractor, with a career that has taken him across Australia and England, and now proudly to Springwood Chiropractic.

Originally from Sydney’s Inner West, Frank graduated in 1998 from Macquarie University after a 5-year Bachelor and Masters program. Under the mentorship of experienced practitioners, he spent several years as a locum and associate chiropractor in many clinics across NSW, London and SE England. Working in multidisciplinary clinics alongside GP’s, medical specialists and physiotherapists, shaped his evidence-based, hands-on approach to patient management.

In 2003, he opened Inner West Chiropractic in Concord, where he offered consultations that integrated muscle therapy, specific joint movements, tailored ergonomic and injury management advice.

In 2013, driven by a passion for innovation and willingness to fulfil his patients’ requests of “needing to be stretched out.”, Frank set out to find a non-surgical solution for spinal pain. This led him to New York, where he trained under Dr. David Cuccia, developer of the Extentrac spinal decompression system and M3D protocol. Certified in this technique, he also pioneered spinal mobilisation therapy utilising the Manuthera table.   Frank became the first practitioner to introduce Extentrac and Manuthera to Australia, achieving TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) sponsorship for both devices. While the Extentrac system is not currently available at the clinic, we are excited to offer it soon as a safe, technology driven option for treating disc-related conditions and joint mobilisation.

In 2025, after two decades of running a successful clinic in Concord, NSW, Frank sold his practice to focus full-time on serving his local community. He has a special interest in disc injuries, gentle and specific joint movements utilising the Extentrac spinal decompression or the Manuthera mobilisation table. He also works with RJ laser for photo biomodulation therapy, utilises a variety of muscle manipulation techniques, and offers customised lifestyle and ergonomic advice. He is registered with AHPRA (Australia) and the GCC (UK).
